Hill adds new chief scout to backroom staff

Date published: 04 September 2007

Rochdale manager Keith Hill added John Forrest to his backroom coaching staff. Forrest will become the club's new chief scout, taking over the role from previous encumbent Peter Fox. Forrest will watch Rochdale's upcoming opponents and report back his findings to Hill to assist in pre-match build-up, as well reporting on any players that he believes might make welcome additions to the Rochdale squad.

The majority of Forrest's coaching and playing experience comes from Rochdale's local rivals Bury, where he coached after spending 13 years as a goalkeeper at the club. His lengthy stay with the Shakers lasted from 1967 to 1980, in which time he made 430 league appearances between the posts.

Peter Fox gave up the job at Spotland to focus on coaching duties at other North-West based clubs.
