Accrington turn down bid for Dale target

Date published: 22 January 2009

Accrington Stanley have turned down a bid from an unknown club for supposed Rochdale target Andy Procter.

News last week suggested that Dale boss Keith Hill was keen the 25-year old midfield player to Spotland, but Dale's interest has apparently cooled and now Procter has been the subject of a bid from another club.

Procter has been a regular in the Stanley starting line-up in recent weeks and impressed the Hill in Dale's recent 3-1 win over Accrington at Spotland.

But the link between Procter and Dale has cooled this week, especially given Nicky Adams' signing on loan at Spotland on Monday, and a host of other League Two clubs are showing an interest in Procter.

Accrington turned down the bid from the unknown club because they value Procter at a much higher price.
