Hill snatches up ex-Bury winger

Date published: 19 January 2009

Rochdale manager Keith Hill has pulled off a major transfer window coup by signing summer target Nicky Adams on loan from Leicester City this morning (Monday 19 January).

Dale were strongly linked with a permanent deal for the winger in the summer, when his contract with Bury had ended, but the Foxes came in with a last minute offer and Adams chose to leave Bury for Leicester for a fee of £100,000, which was decided by tribunal.

The 22-year old Welsh under-21 international has played 16 games for the Foxes this term, scoring one goal, but has not really featured in their first team over the last month.

Adams comes to Spotland on loan initially for a month and will go straight into the squad for this Saturday's trip to Dagenham.
