Rochdale have ended their interest in bringing Ipswich striker Jordan Rhodes back to the club for a second loan spell.
The 18-year old spent a month on loan with the Spotland club from September to October last year, scoring goals at Rotherham and Accrington in a five game stint.
There was talk earlier this month that the striker may come back up north but Dale boss Keith Hill says he is looking for players a little closer to home.
"We are not looking at Jordan Rhodes at the minute," he said. "He is a great talent and has a big future – probably at Ipswich – but from a geographical perspective we are looking to recruit players from the north, preferably from within an hour of the club. It helps when it comes to preparing and training for matches."
