Midfielder Jake Burger has joined Rochdale Football Club on a permanent transfer from Luton Town and has penned an initial two-year deal.
The 19-year-old says he is delighted to be with the club.
“I can’t wait to get started, he said. “I’ve been at Luton my whole life so coming here is a big change. But as soon as I spoke to Jimmy [McNulty] I was sold.
“I had a good conversation with him, and he spoke about how he thinks my game can help the team. He sees strengths in me that he feels he can develop.
“The club’s ambitions really resonate with me. The new board and Jimmy signing a new contract. So, I felt like it was a no-brainer in the end.”
Burger joined Luton Town at the age of six, rising through their academy ranks before signing his first professional contract last summer.
He was a regular for their under 18s as they won the EFL Youth Alliance South East title in 2023, before becoming a key member of the under 21s side last season.
In February, he joined National League South side St Albans City on loan, where he made 14 appearances as they narrowly missed out on a playoff spot.
