Dale keen on ex-Liverpool youngster

Date published: 06 October 2008

Rochdale are among a number of League Two clubs rumoured to be interested in securing the services of Tranmere midfielder Charlie Barnett on loan.

The ex-Liverpool youngster is thought to want a loan move away from Prenton Park in search of regular first team football.

The 20-year old left Anfield to make his break into first team action and signed a one-year deal with Tranmere after impressing during a pre-season trial period.

He has been described as a classy midfielder but he has struggled to become a regular in Ronnie Moore's starting eleven. He has started only one league game so far this season, with his only other start coming in a Carling Cup fixture. He also came off the bench in a Johnstone's Paint Trophy encounter.
