Date published: 02 October 2008
The Rochdale Swarm have their final home fixture in their inaugural season with a tricky match against Leigh MB XIII this weekend.
The Leigh side currently lie second in the Tag Merit league having only suffered one defeat all season. The Swarm faced Leigh in only their second ever full fixture and the Rochdale side lost 44-10.
The Swarm players and coaching staff are hopeful that the season long improvement will lead to a much closer scoreline.
All Swarm players are asked to meet at Firgrove at 10.00am for an 11.00am kick off.
In a busy weekend, the Swarm are taking in the Engage Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford on the Saturday before Sunday's fixture.
Training for the Rochdale Swarm is changing with winter approaching. Training will now take place on Sunday morning at 11.00am on Firgrove from Sunday 12 October.
Also the Swarm are entering a team in a Huddersfield based 5-a-side Touch Rugby League Competition on Wednesday nights as the Rochdale based team diversify its player base. The Swarm are also looking at launching a "Masters"(over 35`s) Rugby League team for next summer. Anyone interested is asked to just come along to the Sunday morning training sessions.
