Primary school children will be able to see Rochdale in action for free when they take on Carlisle United in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy at Spotland next month.
The club is trying to attract more families to come and watch the game on Tuesday 7 October, kick off 7.45pm, and under-11s will get in free if they are accompanied by an adult.
Officials at Carlisle have agreed to the incentive, which will also see secondary school children get into the game for just £5 and adults for just £10, anywhere in the ground.
Free tickets for primary school children must be obtained by purchasing an adult ticket prior to the day of the game.
The club are hopeful that local schools will pick up on the incentive and encourage their children to attend a professional football game at very little cost.
