For the first time in the Football League's 120-year history, a division is likely to witness more away wins than home victories.
In 410 League Two games this season, there have been 167 away wins to 149 at home.
Rochdale, in ninth, have managed four home wins but ten away.
Keith Hill, the Rochdale manager, said: "Unless you are prepared to go away and win there is no point getting on the coach. There is an equal opportunity to win any game, be it home or away."
The Telegraph reports that in more than 167,000 matches since the League started in September 1888, there have been 87,656 home wins and 39,051 away. Yet this season's League Two programme has seen nine away wins on a single day, and eight on three other occasions. Prior to this season, eight or more away wins in a single division on a single day had only occurred nine times in the history of the League.
John Nagle, spokesman for the Football League, said: "It is remarkable that after so many seasons this should suddenly happen. There is no obvious explanation, but it does demonstrate how competitive the division is."
