Fairclough thinks Dale can go one better

Barnet manager Paul Fairclough believes Rochdale can go a step further and gain promotion for the first time since 1969.

The Bees boss saw his side comprehensively beaten by Dale at the weekend and on the evidence of their three-one win, he thinks Dale are a stronger outfit this team.

He said after the game: "Rochdale were strong last season and on the evidence of that display, they are even stronger this season.

"They passed the ball so well in the second-half that they made us run and chase. One or two of my players feel they chased more in this game than they had to in the previous two matches."

Fairclough also complemented the new-look Dale midfield pairing of Gary Jones and Clark Keltie, who allowed their side to dominate possession in the second half.

Barnet took an early lead in the game as the home side made a lethargic start, but goals from Adam Rundle and an excellent strike from Chris Dagnall, turned the game just before the break.

Fairclough continued: "For 39 minutes we played very well away from home against a very good team and then at 2-1 down we were in at half-time very, very disappointed."
