Cricket: Heywood Cricket Club teams for the weekend

Heywood Cricket Club teams will be hoping for a weekend’s uninterrupted return to action starting with T20 action on Friday 21 June.

Heywood Monkeys go the Stayley Scorpions for the last match in their Marston’s T20 qualifying group when they still have a chance of going through to the quarter-finals.

The senior side are in Division 1A action tomorrow with a visit to Flowery Field, who lie second in the table six points ahead of Heywood.

The second team, meanwhile, entertain Glodwick at Crimble in a Division 3 East fixture.

Sunday sees the 3rd X1 going to Worsley in the second round of the Sunday Plate.

  • Heywood Monkeys (v Stayley, away, Friday 21 June, Marston’s T20, 6pm): Team to be finalised.
  • Heywood 1st X1 (v Flowery Field, away, Saturday 22 June, 1pm): S Burrill (capt), J Kettleborough, R Cross, M Grogan, J Morley, S Azildada, D Fawcett, M Witts, C Hilton, S Byrne, F Iqbal.
  • Heywood 2nd X1 (v Glodwick, home, Saturday 22 June, 1.30pm): S Evans (capt), C Booth, C Kaye, L Grogan, L Clarkson, R Bennett, J Mills, R Smethurst, O Thomas, T Pagett, J Keyworth. Reserve: W Taylor.
  • Heywood 3rd X1 (v Worsley, away, Sunday23 June, Plate 2nd rnd, 1pm): R Smethurst (capt), R Purser, M Hood, J O’Neill, W Taylor, T Pagett, T Sullivan, J Carter, E Clarkson, M Dearden, C McNally. Reserve: A Russell.
