Dale seek back-to-back wins

Date published: 07 December 2007

Rochdale go to Rotherham tomorrow on the back of an excellent win away at Accrington. Rotherham are the division's form team with seven straight wins coming into this game but with Rochdale unbeaten on their travels since the opening day of the season makes for a very interesting match. Dave Flitcroft comments: "We go there to try and win the match. We have had them watched a couple of times as it is important that you do your homework on the opposition and then concentrate on your organisation. The surface will be good at Millmoor and we have the players to capitalise on that, players who look to get the ball down and pass it".

Youngster, Gary Brown, is back in training following reconstruction surgery on his knee. Gary has a long road back in front of him but as ever is facing it with a smile on his face. We all wish him well.

Kallum Higginbotham has signed a new deal, commiting him to the Club until 2010. Keith Hill commented: "This is great news for the player and for the Club. We can now continue to work and develop Kallum and help him realise his undoubted potential. Kallum himself is overjoyed at the deal and looking forward to working hard and developing as a player. Kallum topped of a great week with his first senior goal in the 2 - 1 victory at Accrington on Wednesday night."

In what can only be described as awful conditions Dale put in a display of skill and determination to beat Accrington 2 - 1. David Perkins was sent off after 20 minutes and then Dale conceded from a free kick a couple of minutes later. However in the second half goals from Higginbotham and Murray sealed a famous victory which was enjoyed by the travelling support who made up at least half of the attendance on the night.
