Swimming: Aquabears win four golds, nine silvers and eight bronze

Rochdale Aquabears swimmers shone at the Lancashire county championships with some of the swimmers moving into the top ten of the country’s age group rankings as a result of their impressive swims.

Fifteen of the clubs swimmers swam in 35 finals winning four gold, nine silver and eight bronze medals.

The medalists were: 

  • Lauren Cusick - one gold, three silver and three bronze 
  • Xaunming Guo - three gold, one silver and a bronze.
  • Lucy Cannavan - two silver
  • Bailey Boyd-Aust  - two silver
  • Emma Blair - silver and bronze 
  • Daniel Cannavan - two bronze
  • Jessica Sunderland - bronze

There were outstanding swims from all of the swimmers competing with 100% improvement from all the competitors in all their events.

The medalists were backed up by the following swimmers:

Sam Howarth, Emily Oldham, Ethan Richards, William Armstrong, William Blair, James Boworth, Ellie Thompson and Hermione Worrall.
