Bury goalscorer Nicky Adams as the Rochdale fans chant his name in the assumption that he may sign for them in the summer
Long-term Rochdale target Nicky Adams has joined Leicester City after he failed to agree a contract extension with Dale's rivals Bury.
The Welsh Under-21 winger linked up with Nigel Pearson at Leicester despite strong rumours linking him with Rochdale throughout the summer.
Neither Dale nor Bury could compete with Leicester's wage offer and the midfielder has signed a three year deal with the Foxes.
Bury and Leicester are to agree a compensation package for the transfer.
Leicester boss Pearson told the club's official website: "Nicky is a player that I like a lot and I am delighted to have been able to bring him here.”
“He can play anywhere across the middle of the park and he has got a real eye for goal. I see him very much as a player with a big future ahead of him.”
