16-year-old Dan Adshead to play for Dale in ELF Trophy derby against Bury

Date published: 18 September 2017

Rochdale travel to neighbours Bury for a local derby in the Northern Group C of the EFL Trophy on Tuesday night, and manager Keith Hill says 16-year-old Dan Adshead will play.

Following the disappointment of losing to a late winer at MK Dons on Saturday, Hill is looking to the Bury game to get his side back to winning ways.

He said: “The Bury game is an important game for us.

“There won’t be too many changes because we have not got that many available."

With Niall Canavan and Mark Kitching injured, Hill said "we are back to square one with respect to the injuries”.

Jim McNulty misses the game through suspension.

Hill explained: "He got sent off against Chesterfield last year and it has carried over into this season."

However, 16-year-old Dan Adshead is expected to play.

Hill added: “Dan Adshead will be heavily involved in the match."

Bury had to settle for a goalless draw at home to Plymouth in their League One game on Saturday, and like Dale have had a difficult start to the season.
