In his address to players and parents, club chairman John Murphy said: “The club’s general committee has a long term strategy of developing the club to be the centre of the wonderful community in which we live.

“Great strides have been taken to ensure the club is more family orientated and open to all of those who follow our ambitions and principles, and we are discussing ways in which we can engage more effectively with parents and potential volunteers.

“The club cannot operate without our loyal band of helpers, and sadly that number is diminishing rather than increasing.

“We would welcome any kind of help. Our general committee has vacancies, and we are particularly keen to recruit some parents to help us understand more your needs and expectations.”
