Inaugural girl's rugby festival a roaring success
Date published: 21 April 2016
Littleborough Junior Girls' team hosted their very first Rugby festival on Sunday and was given rave reviews from club members and visitors alike.
Over 30 different teams from all age groups with 314 girls registered to play for the day.
The day was played in fabulous spirits and the LRUFC Pink Warriors put on a great show for the crowd with the under 13s getting to the semi final, the under 15s also in the semi final and the under 18s in the final.
The day ended with spot prizes and team spirit awards.
Organiser Clair Carson said: "The day couldn’t have been better, the weather was wonderful, the pitches looked good, our little club by the Lake was certainly shown in a wonderful way.
"With plenty of support on hand from volunteers on the tuck shop, raffle and registration stand, amazing volunteers who refereed all day for us, the girls coaches as well as the super busy and super efficient first aiders on all pitches, without them this would not have happened.
"Well done to all involved ."
