Mayfield Preview

Date published: 21 April 2016

Mayfield will be looking to put right the mistakes made last week when they travel to Humberside to take on Hull Dockers in the Kingstone Press NCL Premier Division.

Last weekend’s defeat was a bitter one to swallow with all involved knowing they should have beaten Siddal and indeed would have done if they had not hit the self-destruct button.

Despite putting themselves under so much pressure with the number of penalties given away, Mayfield finished strongly and with a little more time would probably have gone on to win.

Saturday’s opponents have had a poor start having lost all five of their games so far. They welcome back a couple of players after injury so will be looking at making Mayfield pay.

Calland and Butterworth should have a strong squad to select from and will be going to Hull with the intention of returning with two points.

Also on the road are Dave Harmer's NWML side who make the shorter trip to Blackpool.

The Scorpions are sitting joint second with Mayfield so a tough game is in prospect with both sides looking to cement the second place.
