Keith Hill on Dale's last five games

Date published: 12 April 2016

Manager Keith Hill is targeting a higher points total than last year as Dale get set for the final five league games of the 2015-16 campaign.

Rochdale have accumulated 61 points so far, which is just two points short of last season’s end total.

Not only that, Dale’s recent impressive run of form, just two defeats in their last 12 games, means the side still have a hope of securing top six finish going into the remaining five fixtures.

Hill said: “We’re in a position where we’ve got five games left to play and we can beat last year’s 63 points total.

“We always want improvements and there’s a real bit between the players’ teeth.

“There’s no pressure and we continue to be in a strong position. Until it’s mathematically impossible, we’ll keep chomping at the bit.

"We’re going to keep working hard on the training pitch and there will be no let off.

“I played a lot of younger players [towards the end of last season]. I’ve tried to put a perspective on what happened last season – we lost five out of our last six games – and this season I’m not going to do that.

“This time we’re chasing. It looks nigh on impossible with the other teams above us winning, but there’s still a hope with five games and 15 points to play for. You never know.”
