Mayfield Preview

Mayfield play their first home game of the season at the Mayfield Sports Centre on Saturday.

Their opponents in this Kingstone Press Premier Division clash are Castleford based Lock Lane.

Lock Lane have won both their games so far opening, including a 58 point drubbing of York Acorn. 

Mayfield lost their opening fixture at Leigh Miners and games against Kells and Wath Brow were postoned.

Coaches Calland and Butterworth know that a win is important if they are to pose a threat to the front runners in the competition.

It will be a tough game against in form Lock Lane but it is a game Mayfield are more than capable of winning.

Also at home the NWML side face local rivals Bury Broncos in a top of the table clash.

Mayfield are in the number one spot courtesy of point’s difference over the Broncos and Dave

Coaches Dave Harmer and Craig White are expecting a tough game against a good side.

Mayfield go into this game on the back of two great wins over Leigh Miners and Leigh East and will be hoping to maintain the momentum.
