With Sartori Sharpening Services Premier Division leaders Rochdale Sacred Heart without a game both FC Littleborough and White Lion took their chance to narrow the gap at the top of the table.
Goals from Doyle, Holbrook, Smith, Law and Beddard gave Littleborough a 5-3 win over Chadderton Park.
White Lion overcame a spirited Sudden outfit courtesy of goals from Currie (2), Mooney (2), Lewis and Parton.
In Division One the Rochdale Asia bandwagon rolled on with a 7-2 away win at struggling Chadderton Park 2nds.
Horse & Farrier avoided defeat for a second game in succession as strikes from Pomroy, Hall and Worthington earned them a highly creditable 3-3 draw at Rochdale Galaxy.
The much postponed President’s Cup Preliminary Round tie between Hargreaves and Fothergill & Whittles was finally played. Holt (2), Healey and Lee were on target for Fothergill and they now meet White Lion in the first round proper on Saturday.
