Rochdale Football Club showed their support for Team Ellis on Saturday, raising around £1,000.
Youth Team players and staff, club staff, representatives from Dale's Community Trust and Desmond the Dragon came together to run the seven miles from Spotland to the Sports Direct Park ahead of Rochdale AFC’s League One fixture versus Oldham Athletic.
Sponsorship money is still being collected but the club estimate that around £1,000 has been raised for Ellis Robinson, a former RAFC Academy player who has tragically been left paralysed following a freak footballing accident.
The money will go towards Ellis' rehabilitation and his fight to walk again.
The club has thanked everyone who sponsored Team Rochdale’s run.
