Countdown to Pennine Cricket League

With less the five weeks to go until the start of the inaugural JW Lees Brewery Pennine Cricket League season, preparations are now well advanced for the launch with the first round of league fixtures to be played on Sunday 24 April.

The launch match is between Norden and Saddleworth at Milnrow on 23 April.

Recent Training Events

The scorer's course at Milnrow last week saw an excellent attendance from a large number of clubs.

Two umpires' training days have now taken place at Middleton and the large panel of experienced officials are now conversant with the new PCL rules along with the latest updates to MCC law.  

Supporter Open Information Evening

The open information evening will take place on Thursday 7 April, 7.30pm at Milnrow Cricket Club.

The set up and background of the Pennine Cricket League and the new match rules and playing conditions will be explained at this open meeting for anybody who wishes to attend, be they players, spectators, club members or general public. It will also be an opportunity for members and supporters of clubs to meet and mingle before the start of the new season.

Captains & Cricket Chairmen Information Evening

Monday 11 April, 7.30pm at Saddleworth Cricket Club.

Representatives of all clubs are required to attend, ideally both senior captains and the Cricket Chairman. The new PCL Match Rules and the Code of Conduct requirements will be explained and discussed.

An official photocall will also be taking place during the evening. Players are requested to bring along a club playing shirt along with T20 coloured shirt.
