Rochdale Hornets AGM

Date published: 27 February 2016

The Rochdale Hornets Rugby Football League Club Society Ltd AGM, held at Rochdale Town Hall, heard Hornets CEO Ryan Bradley describe 2014 as 'his toughest yet', as the club reported a loss for the first time since 2012.

Bradley highlighted the re-structuring of the Buzzline Lottery as a major success, as well as the introduction of a stand-alone charitable foundation to push forward the club's community work.

He also praised the work of former coach Ian Talbot, who despite mixed results on the field, had "given his all to the cause".

He also noted that the emigration of director Mick Johnson as a director early in the year was a big loss to the club.

Club chairman Mark Wynn reported that a number of structural and strategic changes took place throughout the year and that these are now starting to bear fruit.

Wynn also spoke about his disappointment of the team on the field but thought the club is moving n the right direction.

Written reports were received from directors Luke Harrison and Lynda Falstaff, with Paul Ormerod (stadium), Wendy Hamer (supporters), Julie Clarke (heritage) and Walter Tann (player welfare) also providing oral reports.

The accounts ending November 2015 were available for inspection.

The meeting was closed after questions.
