Two more properties in Middleton have joined the list of over 700 accredited homes for rent across the borough.
Rochdale Borough Council operates a Landlord Accreditation Scheme aimed at improving and promoting good quality, well managed accommodation for rent.
It is a free and voluntary scheme open to anyone who owns or manages properties for let anywhere in the borough.
The newly accredited properties in Middleton are on Norman Street and Berwyn Avenue.
Penny Sharp, Service Director at the council, said: “It’s great to see more landlords and properties joining this scheme.
“It offers everyone involved confidence that the homes for rent are of a good standard and safe. I’d urge any landlord or agent not currently registered to get in touch and join up.”
The scheme is free and voluntary and offers benefits to both landlords and tenants by increasing the supply of good quality accommodation, raising management standards and improving access to a range of council contacts and services.
Properties submitted are inspected and must meet certain health and safety standards before being accredited.
Approximately 300 landlords and 720 properties across the borough are now accredited.
