Appeal for return of £5,000 bike
Date published: 28 October 2011
Rochdale’s Community Safety Partnership is appealing for information following the theft of £5,000 pedal bike from a home in Middleton.
The bike, a black stunt jumper model, was stolen from the property in Alkrington on 9 September. It is a ‘swords’ model and has top of the range xtr gears. Its serial number is Stah210d0079.
Detective Sergeant Lee Hopwood , from the Volume Crime Unit in Middleton, said: “This bike may have a high monetary value, but it was about much more than that to its owner. The bike was his hobby and something which gave him many hours of enjoyment.
“I’d like to remind people not to buy secondhand goods being sold through "friends of friends" or at the door as these may well be stolen property. If anyone has information about this incident and where the bike could have got to, I would be very pleased to hear from them.”
Anyone who has any information about the bike is asked to call the Volume Crime Unit in Middleton on: 0161 856 8428.
