Date published: 04 December 2009

A tumble dryer caught fire and caused damage to a Middleton home.

Two fire crews from Heywood attended the house on Cheapside at 8.05am yesterday morning (Thursday 3 December) and used a dry powder extinguisher and rose reel, whilst wearing breathing apparatus, to tackle the blaze.

The fire caused damage to the dryer, kitchen worktops and cabinets.

The blaze was caused by an electrical fault.
