Rich Hall comes to Middleton Arena

Date published: 08 June 2009

Grouchy deadpan American comic Rich Hall is appearing at the Middleton Arena this autumn.

The quick witted star of hit BBC television shows including ‘QI’ and ‘Live at the Apollo’ will visit the arena on Friday 18 September as part of his nationwide tour.

And it will be two for the price of one on the night as Hall's alter ego, the hilarious redneck jailbird character Otis Lee Crenshaw, will be let out of jail for the second half of the show for some music and comedy.

Hall, a master of absurdist irony, particularly likes to lay into Americans and life across the pond at every opportunity.

He won the Perrier Award at the Edinburgh Festival in 2000 and has been charming audiences around the world ever since.
He’s just received rave reviews for his recent run at the Melbourne Comedy Festival and over here is always a popular guest on panel shows such as ‘Have I got news for you’, ‘Mock the Week’, ‘8 out of 10 cats’ and ‘Never Mind the Buzzcocks’.

He is well known in the United States for appearing and writing on The David Letterman Show - for which he won an Emmy Award.

Tickets, priced £15, are available from www.seetickets.com, at the Middleton Arena box office, or by phoning 0871 230 0010.
