Couple attacked on driveway

Date published: 31 July 2012

A couple were attacked on their own driveway.

It happened during a robbery on Severn Road in Heywood at about 5.30pm on 28 July 2012.

The couple, husband and wife, had just parked up on their drive when three masked men confronted then and pushed the man over.

One of the offenders then pushed the woman to the floor and assaulted her, banging her head against the floor as she fell.

After stealing personal items, the masked trio then fled. All three were wearing dark clothing and balaclavas.

Police are now appealing to anyone with information to come forward.

Detective Constable Hannah Greetham, of Rochdale CID, said: "This couple were returning home when they were subjected to a frightening and violent ordeal at the hands of three masked men.

"Both are very shaken and distressed and just want to see their attackers caught.

"I would appeal to anyone who has information about this robbery, either through witnessing what happening or has overheard something, to come forward and help get justice for this couple."

Anyone with information should call Rochdale CID on 0161 856 4646 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
