Parents learn about fire safety

Community Fire Safety Officer, Mike Cryer with the group
Parents and carers from the Surestart centre on Derby Street, Heywood, have received a lesson in fire safety this week.
The session was part of a four week course which has seen various organisations give talks.
The course was set up by child/parent co-ordinator Rose Burke.
Community Fire Safety Officer, Mike Cryer, spoke to the group about the importance of having fitted working smoke alarms in their homes, and the need to have a fire escape plan in place should the need arise in case of a fire starting in their property.
Many of the group signed up to the offer of a free home fire risk assessment which is available to all house owners, alternatively this free service is available by ringing 0800 555 815 to book an appointment.
