Littleborough craft enthusiast all set for prom art

Date published: 21 May 2012

A craft enthusiast from Littleborough will be among 80-100 professional and amateur arts and crafts specialists taking part in Cumbria’s biggest open air arts and crafts gallery on Sunday 27 May.

Vera Palmer will be showcasing her craftwork at Prom Art, in Grange-over-Sands, which is rapidly becoming one of the most popular days out to be had in the northwest for those who appreciate creativity and an inexpensive way of passing time.

The free-to-attend event features an array of craftspeople, from painters to potters, to jewellers and woodworkers and much more besides. Almost every conceivable type of art and craft is represented, offering visitors a wide choice of pieces to browse or buy.

Vera will be setting up stall with her fellow craftspeople on the Grange-over-Sands promenade, where there will be stands stretching virtually the whole length of the prom.

Among their number at the May event will be BT Olympics 2012 artist, Christine Rooney, who will be displaying some of her trademark works.

Organiser, Robert Leach, says: “We are delighted to have Littleborough represented at our May Prom Art event. Around a third of our artists now travel over 50 miles to attend Prom Art and we really appreciate their support”.
