Families boarded the East Lancashire Railway Santa Special on Saturday (19 December) at Heywood Train Station for a festive ride to Bury as Santa and his crew of happy helpers handed out gifts and mince pies.
Once in Bury, families enjoyed activities including meeting Christmas characters and fairies, a treasure hunt for Christmas treasure, performances from a traditional brass band, carol singers and the chance to meet Father Christmas in his grotto.
The Santa Special is an annual event held by the East Lancashire Railway and continues until Christmas Eve.
Trains depart throughout the day but places are limited and booking is required.
