Townhead Junction accident
Date published: 26 November 2015
A sixth smash in as many days has occurred this evening (Thursday 26 November) at Townhead Junction.
It is understood a car turning right on to Whitworth Road was in a collision with an oncoming car.
Police, fire and ambulance services are at the scene.
A spokesperson for the fire service said that despite initial fears that someone was trapped in one of the vehicles, this turned out not to be the case and it is believed there are no major injuries.
Concerns have been raised about the safety of the junction since it was recently 'improved', due to there being no filter arrow from Yorkshire Street turning right into Whitworth Road.
