Burglars Raid Chemist for Prescription Drugs

Police in Rochdale are appealing for witnesses following a burglary at a chemist in Heywood overnight,in which a large amount of prescription drugs were stolen.
At some point between 5:30pm last night, Thursday 25 November and 6:15am on Friday 26 November 2004, offenders broke in through the back door of Boots the Chemist on Market Street, and stole a large quantity of controlled drugs from the premises, including Morphine, Pethidone and Ritalin.
The drugs which were taken are extremely dangerous and could prove fatal if taken in large quantities. Officers are appealing for anyone who is offered the drugs or who has any knowledge about their whereabouts to contact police immediately. Anyone who witnessed anyone acting suspiciously in the area last night, or who has any information about the
offenders is asked to call Heywood Police Station on 0161 856 8587.
