Mini 'Town Hall' for Heywood

Rochdale Council's Liberal Democrat controlled Cabinet approved the submission of an outline business case to the Department for Communities and Local Givernment and Department for Culture, Media and Sport fro a Private Finance Initiative funded Joint Service Centre for Heywood.
The Joint Service Centre, or mini Town Hall, is to be developed in partnership with Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale Primary Care Trust and will house a number of council staff currently dispersed throughout the town and PCT services under one roof.
The Chairman of Heywood Area Partnership, Father Paul Daly said: “I welcome the vote to provide a ‘mini town hall' for Heywood. It will provide a useful focus for the life of our town. As greatly welcome as the new centre is, equally important will be the realisation for Heywood people to be able, through their own elected representatives, to commission the services we need, whether from RMBC or elsewhere, in accordance with Heywood’s own vision for growth and regeneration.”
