Ride in Rock out raises over £1,100

Date published: 09 September 2015

Hundreds of bikers flocked to Rochdale on Sunday, 6 September, to enjoy the sunshine and local motorcycle club, MT Heads MCC bike show and music event, ‘Ride in, Rock out’.

The event, which is organised in conjunction with the Flying Horse Hotel, is now in its third year and is growing in popularity.

There was a record number of visitors and entries into the show, with trophy categories ranging from Trike, through to Learner Legal & Scooters, with a special trophy dedicated to Dez Warner, one of the founders of MT Heads MCC who passed away recently after a life long battle with cystic fibrosis.

One brave soul, Luke Aye, had a full head and beard shave to raise money for Macmillan nurses.

The event ran through into the late evening with bands donating their time and talents to the charity event.

The event has further raised over £1,100 and still counting, which will be donated to three charities, Action for Alports, the CF Ward at Wythenshawe Hospital and the Lung Foundation.

A spokesman for the MT Heads said: "This event is getting better each time, we were overwhelmed with the support we received from local businesses, the biking community and members of the public.

“We would love to see this event grow even bigger and in doing so show the town and the biking community in a positive light.

“Any businesses who would like to support us for next year, please get in touch."
