Councillor Aasim Rashid picks up Successful Businessman of the Year award

Castleton councillor Aasim Rashid, has picked up the award for Successful Business Man of the Year, following the success of his retail store in Leigh.
Mr Rashid has been working in the retail industry for over 15 years and currently has shops in Leigh and Manchester, as well as a Subway franchise in Manchester.
Speaking to Rochdale Online, Mr Rashid said: “I am very delighted with the award. It can be hard with competition from bigger retailers such as Tesco but this shows our success.”
Rashid News, which is located on Bradshaw Gate in Leigh, is a newsagents which supplies cut price cigarettes, confectionery, stationary, newspapers, magazines, mobile phone accessories and top ups.
Mr Rashid and staff from Rashid News were presented with the award from Ignite Imperial Tobacco at an awards ceremony at the Hilton Hotel in Manchester on Thursday 18 June.
