Pupils from St Edwards join manager Matt Fowler in launching Tesco Computers For Schools
2004 is the 13th year of Tesco Computers for Schools - the scheme started in 1992. The initiative is the largest of its kind and has donated over £84 million worth of computer-related equipment in to schools.
This includes over 52,000 computers and almost 555,000 additional items, including digital cameras, software, scanners and printers. This years catalogue has over 538 products to choose from.
There are 73 schools in the Rochdale area who take part in Computers for Schools. Since 1992 Tesco has given these schools computer equipment worth just under £111,000. In 2003 alone the value of equipment was £9,820.
Local businesses are being asked to support local schools by collecting vouchers for them. If businesses would like to do this please contact Bev Corlett, Customer Service Manager at the Rochdale store, for a list of participating schools.
