Safety locking bollards installed in Springfield Park
Safety locking bollards have been installed in Springfield Park.
The bollards have been placed at the entrance of the two pedestrian pathways leading off of the park’s entrance roadway.
Friends of Springfield Park worked with officers in the Environmental Management Department at Rochdale Council to get the barriers installed.
A spokesperson for the Friends of Springfield Park said: “It is hoped that this will stop the idiots who, from time to time, decide to use these pathways as roadways for their cars, giving access onto the carefully maintained grassed areas, which they then proceed to tear up with their questionable ‘driving skills,’ leaving nothing but a badly scarred area of the park.”
A vandal proof, wrought iron memorial bench with plaque to commemorate a lost family member or friends is available to purchase. The benches come complete with installation in the park with 10 years maintenance included.
