Littleborough child minder Celine Coldman
Celine Coldman, a child minder in Littleborough, has been rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted – the third time she has received the top rating.
Celine, based at her home in Riverstone Bridge, Littleborough, was inspected by the authority on 20 November and given credit for providing ‘high quality teaching’ and ‘rich learning experiences for children’.
Ms Coldman had previously been awarded similar recognition in 2005 and 2009, but the latest result is the first to come directly from Ofsted.
“I’m passionate about child minding. I believe parents should have a choice of home based, or school or nursery. Child minding can deliver an education to an outstanding level,” she said.
The report also pointed to exemplary teaching and the meticulous tracking of children’s development.
Ms Coldman, who cares for 15 children up age 11 with co-minder Lynn Coldman, explained that inspection of child minders is the same as that of schools.
She added: “It’s like a little community, which is like what we find in a family. We’re able to give them intimate care and education.”
