Woman rescued from flat fire

A woman was rescued from a fire at her flat in Wardle last night (Thursday 13 June). She was taken to hospital by paramedics after suffering from the effects of smoke inhilation.
The fire was caused by cooking left unattended in the kitchen.
Fire crews from Rochdale and Heywood attended the blaze at Ash Close at around 10.30pm and the 50 year old woman was rescued from her first floor flat.
The fire was put out by firefighters using breathing apparatus.
