National Lottery given more than £48M to local projects
The National Lottery has given more than £48.6m to local projects in the twenty years since the first draw on 19 November 1994.
In the past two decades 1298 grants have been awarded to individuals and organisations across Rochdale helping to change lives and transform communities.
- The largest ever National Lottery grant in the borough is £2m in the Middleton and Edgar Wood Townscape Heritage Initiative
- The smallest has been £102 to provide after-school word-processing classes for pupils at Littleborough Community Primary School
- The first National Lottery grant was £76,384 awarded to the M6 Theatre Company to purchase a van and technical equipment
Other Lottery-funded projects in the area include Broadfield Park, Rochdale & District MIND, Rochdale and District Citizens Advice Bureau and the Rochdale Library Service.
