Norden Arms and Deli granted planning permission for extension

Date published: 24 September 2014

The Norden Arms and Deli has been granted planning permission for a single story extension to create a building to adjoin the deli and the pub.

After what was described as an “uphill struggle” the plans were approved on Tuesday (23 September) with work starting straight away.

The extension will create a building to join both the deli and the gastro pub as one and will be located where the decking currently stands.

The building will be in keeping with the deli to create a fresh and airy space so customers can enjoy coffee, afternoon teas and leisurely lunches, whilst also being available to hire in the evening for functions and private dinners.

Joanne Cudworth, Deli Manager said: “It has been a long time coming, The new extension will be a great addition to The Norden Arms and also Norden Village.

“Our aim is to have the build completed in four weeks and open by our second birthday on 8 November. Work will be carried out as chaos free as possible and the pub will remain open as usual throughout.

“We are all very excited about the new extension. Its taken a long time getting to this stage and now the vision is finally coming together.”

To celebrate the opening of the extension, the senior citizens of Norden and Bamford are being invited to enjoy a complimentary three course festive lunch in the new building.

The lunch will be served on 4 December and anybody over the age of 60 from the local area can go along to the event.

On the day, meals will be cooked by talented head chef Peter Clough and will be served by councillors Jim Gartside and Peter Winkler.

The event is free of charge and anyone interested in attending should contact Joanne or Sarah at the Deli to secure themselves a place.

Places are limited and are treated on a first come first serve basis.

The deli can be contacted on 01706 359028.
