Littleborough bus stop smashed
A bus stop at Littleborough train station that was smashed and destroyed over a week ago is to be repaired after Rochdale Online brought the concerns of local residents to the attention of Transport for Greater Manchester.
Damage to the stop was first noticed on Friday 5 September and residents noted the stop had still not been repaired a week later on Friday 12 September.
A spokesperson for Transport for Greater Manchester said: “There are over 4,000 passenger shelters across Greater Manchester so we rely on members of the public to contact us if there are any problems.
“Once they are informed, shelter provider JC Decaux have a commitment to make the area safe within 48 hours and replace any
smashed glass as soon as possible.
“We continue to work with our partners, including Greater Manchester Police and bus operators, to tackling criminal and anti-social behaviour on and around the bus network.
“Community awareness is also an important factor and we would urge anyone witnessing criminal behaviour at a passenger shelter to report it to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or email busstop@tfgm.com
