The Rochdale and Heywood & Middleton Conservative constituency parties held a joint dinner at the Masonic Hall in Rochdale attended by nearly sixty guests.
The guest speaker was Lieutenant Colonel Mike Glover, who entertained with amusing tales from army life but spoke chiefly about the museum, to be opened in Bury, for the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, incorporating the Lancashire Fusiliers who have the Freedom of Rochdale.
The Museum will have items dating back to the Napoleonic wars and will also contain research facilities which will be invaluable to the people of Rochdale who are interested in family research. The Museum is due to open next year.
