Exam celebration at Matthew Moss
Date published: 21 August 2014
Pupils at Matthew Moss High School are celebrating another year of good examination results with many achieving top grades. Especially successful were Aisha Ahmed (6 A*, 3A), Simra Akram (3 A*, 8A) and Amelia Gavin (3A*, 5A).
Headteacher Mark Moorhouse commented: “Schools nationally this year have had results in English and Maths disrupted by changes to the examinations system and Matthew Moss is no exception.
"Students have however achieved some very strong results.
"Five students achieved the A Level Extended Project qualification, usually taken at sixth form, and the performance of Year 9 and 10 students sitting GCSEs in a year is very promising: for example Lloyd Griffiths achieved A* in French and History whilst Mehreen Parveen achieved A* in Biology and Chemistry.
"This bodes very well for the future.”
