A charity abseil has been organised down the town hall clock tower
A charity abseil has been organised down the 190-foot town hall clock tower.
Those wanting to take part will need a head for heights as the group will climb more than 100 steps to the top of the tower before descending by rope.
The event has been organised by the charity Number One Riverside – Giving Back to raise money for local causes.
The money raised by the abseil will be donated to local Armed Forces groups, to provide leisure activities for looked-after children and to help Rochdale Gateway purchase an accessible minibus.
There is a registration fee of £20 per person, which will go direct to the charities.
To secure a place, residents should email Helen Leach:
helen.leach@rochdale.gov.uk
Information and sponsorship forms will be provided, as well as details of an abseiling taster session for those involved.
