Strawberry Laces raises £1,014 for Breast Cancer Care

Date published: 08 August 2014

A charity fashion show organised by Strawberry Laces Shoe Boutique has raised £1,014 for Breast Cancer Care.

The event, which was held on Saturday 26 July, saw over 100 people attend to raise money for the boutiques chosen charity.

Donna Bushell from Strawberry Laces said: “It was fantastic. It was a fab and everyone was saying what a great night it was.”

Throughout June and August, Breast Cancer Care asks people to get involved with their Strawberry Tea fundraiser. The charity asks people to get together and show their support for Breast Cancer Care by eating sweet treats and drinking sweet tea.

“Because we are Strawberry Laces and Breast Cancer Care does the Strawberry Tea event, we thought it would be a good idea to do that because of the strawberry link and generate our own strawberry themed idea from that,” said Donna.

Breast Cancer Care aims to help every person affected by the cancer to have the best treatment, information and support possible. The charity combines personal experiences of people affected by breast cancer with clinical expertise to help and support those affected by cancer.

As well as the fashion show the event, held at Littleborough Coach House, included a raffle, a DJ and strawberry drinks, including strawberry punch.

After holding the successful charity event, Donna has been asked by those in attendance if she will be holding anymore charity nights.

She said: “People were asking if I would be doing it again based on how good it was but I don’t know yet, doing this one nearly killed me off! Maybe next year though.”
