Appeal for missing Whitworth man

Date published: 07 August 2014

Police are growing increasingly concerned about the welfare of a man who has gone missing from his home address in Whitworth.

John Archibald, 73, was last seen at Toncliffe Road, Whitworth last night (Wednesday, 6 August) and it is believed that he has gone missing sometime overnight.

He is described as a white male, 5ft 6 tall, of a slim build with grey, slightly balding hair. It is unknown what he was wearing at the time he went missing, but it is thought that he could be wearing a black fleece, brown trousers and black shoes.

Sergeant Steven Hilton of Burnley Police, said: “We are growing increasing concerned about the whereabouts of John and we would urge anyone who may have seen him to get in touch.

“John is vulnerable due to age-related health issues and he may appear confused. Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting log number LC-20140807-0232.”

Alternatively, they can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at Crimestoppers-uk.org. No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.
