Springhill Hospice Yesteryear Festival raises over £10,000
Date published: 06 August 2014
The Yesteryear Festival held in aid of Springhill Hospice has raised over £10,000, despite the rain.
Held on Saturday 2 August and Sunday 3 August the festival saw Callop Gate farm in Heywood transformed into an arena of all things yesteryear and filled with hundreds of hospice supporters.
The festival included vintage cars, a fairground, face painting, military vehicles, a craft and beer tent, entertainment and dancing.
Alison McGuigan Fundraising Lead at Springhill Hospice said: "We were so glad to see that people braved the awful weather on Saturday.
"This is the second time we have benefited from this event and the £10,000 raised is such a boost to our fundraising efforts.
"Thank you to everybody who helped and to everybody who came to this event - we hope everybody enjoyed it as much as we did."
Springhill Hospice Community Fundraiser, Lillie Winterbottom added: “Thanks to Peter Cordwell, whose farm land was an apt setting for the Yesteryear Festival."
